Opening Links in a New Window
This trick works only for PCs, but there is probably an equivalent for Macs.
If you have ever used an index page with a list of hyperlinks on it and found yourself getting tired of clicking the "back" button on your browser, or if you've gone through a series of links and couldn't get back to the index page, you know how irritating and time-consuming that can be. Here is a way to keep the index page up on your screen while opening the links in another window.
The standard way of opening a hyperlink is, as you know, to put your mouse over the highlighted word, phrase, or graphic and click the left-hand button. The page you are viewing disappears and is replaced by new page. To avoid this, click the right button instead of the left one. A small menu will pop up on your screen. Choose "Open in New Window" and your browser will launch a new window, leaving the text you are viewing right where it is.
